Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Nentsberry Haggs Mine, Alston Moor, Cumbria, United Kingdom
Size Range:
Small miniature (3-4.5 cm)
Size:
4 × 3 × 3 cm
Description

Most specimens of this rare species are offered as less attractive off-white prisms. Material of the type offered here is much less common. This specimen is the biggest and best I have come across over the past couple of years. It consists of very lustrous yellowish barytocalcite crystals, up to 1.8cm in length, on grey witherite. From the Second Sun Vein section of the mine and recovered in the early 1970s.
