Description

This is an old specimen of high quality 'kidney ore' from an extremely rare locality. The specimen comes from the York Shaft of the Leaconfield-Crowgarth Mine which was worked between 1753 and 1951. The specimen is Ex the collection of R. Bennett from Distington, Cumbria, who's Grandfather acquired it at the dispersal auction of the Joseph Ritson Wallace (1805-1895) collection at Museum House, Distinton in 1898. A great provenance.
