Gmelinite

Type Locality

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Little Deerpark Quarry, Glenarm, County Antrim, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom
Size Range:
Cabinet (10-18 cm)
Size:
10 × 6.5 × 5.5 cm
Description

Continuing with specimens from my best ever find at the type locality. The quality of the specimens is still very high however the area of crystallisation and the size of the gmelinite crystals is starting to decrease as I move through my stock. This specimen has sharp, reflective gmelinite crystals and exhibit the strongest orange colour found at the locality. The area of crystalisation is 4 x 2 cm. and the matrix has been trimmed by saw to reduce it for aesthetic purposes.
