A superb example of fluorescent (see image #2; taken under 405 nm (sorry for violet cast)) purple apatite on a cleavelandite matrix with quartz and muscovite mica.  The apatite formed in a region where the cleavelandite was inhibited or broken away and the apatite subsqeuently grew or perhaps some interesting paragenesis. Both the quartz and the apatite crystal are sharp and lustrous. The apatite is undamaged although the quartz has a minor ding to the termination, it is difficult to see as you can tell from the photos.  The muscovite really adds balance to the specimen and contrasting color that really boost the visual catch of this piece. No major damage to report and a really nice example of the purple apatite coming out of Afghanistan the past several years.
