Description

An interesting and rare specimen, although the mineral isn´t really rare. Chrysokolla with malachite from the famous Nizhnii Tagil deposit as a lyered and botryoidal coverage on matrix. The interesting thing is the old label which states Asperolite, a doubtful mineral with an approx formula of near CuSiO3 · 3H2O. I have only seen two specimens before so far with that ID (another was asperolite with "Demidowite", a synonym for chrysokolla, also from Nizhnii Tagil. 19th century specimen).
