Description

A very interesting specimen from the Paul Hanses collection: blackish sphalerite (marmatite) is covered in part by almost colourless quartz crystals, some brownish dolomite/ankerite and cockscomb like whiteish baryte aggregates. On top of the baryte there are some chalcopyrite crystals. Allegedly from the Black Forest - came with some other specimens of that kind in a box that was labeled Schauinsland. Hansen´s step son has confirmed that his late stepfather had a swap partner in the Black Forest who had been a miner at the Schauinsland mine. Furthermore the matrix of some of the specimens is a granitic gneiss which would fit to the geology of the Schauinsland deposit. The paragenesis is also in favour. Nevertheless i can not  100 % guarantee.
