Pyrite

Ex Dr F Krantz (Bonn Germany)
With Antique Label

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Ogoya Mine, Komatsu City, Ishikawa Prefecture, Honshu Island, Japan
Size Range:
Small miniature (3-4.5 cm)
Size:
4 × 4 × 2.3 cm
Description

Japanese minerals are not offered very often in Europe and old specimens are very scarce to see here. This 19th century Krantz specimen is a quite large cubic lustrous pyrite crystal with incomplete backside where it was obviously grown on the matrix. Unfortunately the only locality given is "Japan" which gives some possibilities ;) Maybe the specialists chime in.
