THIS is the classic locality for kutnohorite in Germany: The iron ore mine of Bülten-Adenstedt yielded outstanding specimens of manganese and iron minerals as well as beautiful amethyst samples and more during the mining period which ended in 1976 (Emilie shaft). This sample is a classic with typical aggregates of slight salmon-coloured kutnohorite accompanied by calcite. The limonite ore matrix is also present in bits. Rare stuff! Collected by the late Paul Hanses in the early 1960s.
