Description

Very interesting and rare material: two 19th century cinnabar specimens with earthy structure, on a sulfidic matrix of pyrite/marcasite (size is for the larger of the 2 specimens) are assigned by the collector to Montecristo Island. From the Garbari stock at Dr. Krantz, the specimen was collected by an italian. Never seen this stuff before and i do not know of any Hg occurrences on Montecristo - the italian specialists may chime in.
