Description

Interesting oldtimer: Dornstein is a synonym for formations of minerals built on salt recovery works. These are called Gradierwerke (graduation houses) and usually consisted of a network of thin wooden branches where the saline solution would run over and evaporate, leaving the salt in solid form. So this is an anthropogenic mineral but a rare historic one. Two specimens, size is for the bigger one. 1910 specimen.
