Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Ogoya Mine, Komatsu City, Ishikawa Prefecture, Honshu Island, Japan

Single Crystal
Size Range:
Miniature (4.5-7 cm)
Size:
6.8 × 3 × 3 cm
Description

Japanese classic: some pyrite crystals in a glass vial from the J. Sasamoto collection. The label suffered somewhat from the pyrite oxidation products (it was in the vial originally, i cleaned the pyrite and put a plastic cover around the label to protect it). Comes from the Krantz stock of japanese minerals. Not often seen and from a mine that closed as late as of 1971 - this specimen is of course much older. Size is for the vial.
