Pyrite & Bournonite

Classic Locality

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Huanzala Mine, Huallanca, Bolognesi Province, Ancash Department, Peru
Class:
Crystals on Matrix
Size Range:
Small cabinet (7-10 cm)
Size:
7.8 × 4.3 × 3 cm
Description

Nice highly lustrous peruvian pyrite specimen accompanied by at least one other dark submetallic sulfide. Looks like sphalerite in part but most of the crystals i´d ID visually as bournonite - not analyzed. Locality was given (IMO generic) as Huanzala. I´d go for Quiruvilca but this is only speculation.
