Description

Japanese minerals, particularly the older classics, are increasingly hard to obtain. This specimen is out of an old suite of japanese feldspars at Krantz in Bonn, GER. Nicely developed crystals of orthoclase (or microcline) from the famous pegmatite district of the former Omi prefecture, now in the Shiga prefecture. There is a label with this specimen stating "Baveno Twin" but the twinning is IMHO Carlsbad twinning
