ex K. Schwerd ? (GER)

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Constantine, Algeria
Class:
Massive/Crystalline
Size Range:
Small cabinet (7-10 cm)
Size:
7.3 × 4.8 × 3.6 cm
Description

Late 1900s example of dense tan white smithsonite (?) containing some galena, labeled to be from Algier, most probably Constantine Province. From an old collection comprising a lot of specimens from K. Schwerd, Koblenz. I did not test the specimen so i will stick to the label. Heavy specimen indicates Zn/Pb. Label only states Algier but i think this comes from one of the old Constatine Province Zn/Pb deposits which were mined already several hundreds of years ago.
