Description

Interesting specimen from Dognacea: a quite heavy and obviously more or less massive specimen of magnetite with nicely striated dodecahedral magnetite crystals in vugs. The old label - probably late 19th/early 20th century specifies the sample as "künstlicher Magnetit" which means artificial magnetite. I see no indication for an artificial genesis of the specimen but i may miss sth. Dognacea is a skarn Fe and Pb-Zn deposit.
