Description

Mellite is a quite rare organic mineral and well developed crystals are not often seen. Probably the most prolific locality was the Csordakúti lignite in Hungary which yielded the best for the species. This is a very nice example with clustered crystals. Mellite is an Aluminium mellitate (benzene hexacarboxylate) hydrate.
