Pyromorphite

ex Dr. F. Krantz - no old label
Classic Locality

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Berezovsk Mines, Ekaterinberg, Sverdlovsk Oblast, Russian Federation
Class:
Crystals on Matrix
Size Range:
Small miniature (3-4.5 cm)
Size:
3 × 1.8 × 1.8 cm
Description

This specimen was one of three of a small lot of (allegedly) russian pyromorphites from Beresovsk. Whilst the other two were quite diagnostic (w/ vauquelinite on typical matrix for Beresovsk) this one is different. Yellowish slight barrel shaped lustrous pyromorphite crystals on a quartz crystal. I cannot vouch for the locality - similar specimens also come from the UK. Bit more greenish IRL ... the 5500 K LEDs seem to bring out a slightly different colour.
