Description

This specimen was collected by H.J. Wilke during the preparation for his Scandinavia book - a nice example from Tvedalen with a brownish nicely developed monazite crystal in a pegmatite matrix consisting of mostly feldspar and mica, columbite and almandine are noted on the attached labels too. 1970s specimen.The monazite has not been analysed. Both monazite-(Ce) and monazite-(La) has been identified from the Evje/Iveland area, but the vast majority of the analyzed monazites has been Ce dominant.
