Bülten-Adenstedt Mine, Ilsede, Peine District, Lower Saxony, Germany

8.5 × 4.6 × 3.5 cm
Description

A very nice and real german classic: a vuggy boulder ore (limonite) hosts blackish submetallic lustrous aggregates of groutite crystals. The Bülten-Adenstedt mine (to which the Emilie shaft belonged) yielded the best european groutites, and maybe worldwide. 1970s or before specimen. Rare material and increasingly hard to get, and definitely not the worst one.
