Description

An excellent, lustrous, translucent – in part transparent- specimen (cleavage fragment) of the very rare mineral chiolite from Greenland.

Chiolite is related to cryolite, but is much rarer and only occurs as massive material. This is a valuable piece weighing 73 grams.

Comes with a label from the Mineralogisk Institut den Polytekniske Laereanstalt, Danmarks tekniske Hojskole, Lyngby (Mineralogical institute of the danish technical university in Lyngby).
