Description

This is a nice "specimen": a bunch of slightly rounded (alluvial gem gravel) corundum var sapphire crystals up to about 3 cm length and different colours from colourless-greyish to yellowish to blueish to purple etc., with a nice old label from Krantz. Originally there were obviously 22 single crystals, i counted 17 remaining. End of 19th/beginning of 20th century. Given size is for the largest crystal. Probably from Ratnapura District, Sabaragamuwa Province, Sri Lanka.
