Description

A nice example of this classic Siegerland mineral: goethite var. glaskopf (kidney ore) in blackish-brownish lustrous reniform aggregates covers a quartz breccia.

These limonite ores were the first to be mined in the Siegerland district. They were formed by natural oxidation of the primary siderite veins near the surface.
