Description

Cinnabar specimens from Idria are scarce nowadays. This sample is a 19th century specimen collected by Hans Jaklin. It is a dark variety of hepatic (impure) cinnabar mixed with clayey and organic material with curved lamellar structure and some slight reddish reflections. This variety of cinnabar ore is called Corallinerz or Korallenerz, also Idrialit.
