Description

This is a nice example of intense blue, sparkling lustrous small azurite crystals on malachite / matrix. On first sight one would assume Tsumeb mine but this specimen - formerly in the Grosch collection - comes from the Khuiseb (Khusib) Springs mine. The Khusib Springs mine was commissioned in 1996 to replace Tsumeb, with high grade ore but lesser extent compared to the Tsumeb mine.
