Description

A 2005 specimen from the Brandberg complex (not to be confused with the Tafelkop basalt hosted amethyst occurrences!): Out of pegmatitic miaroles in granitic rocks comes this interesting amethyst specimen which has a faden-like habit i.e. a common "base" from where double more or less terminated whitheish quartz grew and developed deep violet tips. Some mousebites but a rare specimen from a national nature reserve where collecting nowadays is strictly prohibited.
