Description
Locality:
St Andreasberg District, Lower Saxony, Germany
Size Range:
Miniature (4.5-7 cm)
Size:
6.5 × 5.2 × 3 cm
Description

An old vein type ore sample of calcite with native arsenic, galena and some reddish small traces of proustite/pyrargyrite (?), comes with very old label, which states: Gediegen Arsenik (Scherbenkobalt) mit Bleiglanz, Rotgülden und Kalkspath von Bergmannstrost. The latter is most probably the Bergmannstrost mine near St. Andreasberg in the Harz Mts. as the specimen comes from a lot of native arsenic specimens at Krantz including mostly Harz and some Erzgebirge and Pribram samples. Not a beauty but very interesting.
