Erythrite

Classic Locality

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Bou Azzer Mine, Amerzgane, Ouarzazate Province, Drâa-Tafilalet Region, Morocco
Size Range:
Miniature (4.5-7 cm)
Size:
5.2 × 3.2 × 2.8 cm
Description

Good quality erythrite specimen: a matrix of altered skutterudite hosts numerous deep violet well developed erythrite crystals accompanied by a second generation of erythrite as small balls of acicular micro-crystals (visual ID, there were some people who suspected a more rare mineral on the specimens from this find which name i don´t remember at the moment ;-) ). Note that erythrite is quite hard to photograph - IMHO the specimen is much better in person.
