November 2012
Classic Locality

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Bou Azzer Mine, Amerzgane, Ouarzazate Province, Drâa-Tafilalet Region, Morocco
Size Range:
Small cabinet (7-10 cm)
Size:
8 × 3.5 × 4.5 cm
Description

This is a good quality erythrite specimen with quite large crystals: a matrix  of altered skutterudite hosts numerous deep violet well developed erythrite crystals. Due to the weakness of erythrite there are some contacts and bruises but overall the main crystals are in very good condition. Note that erythrite is quite hard to photograph - IMHO the specimen is much better in person.
