Description

One of the most famous german locations (and one that was featured recently in Mineralienwelt magazine) is Kautenbach. From here pseudo/perimorphs of galena after pyromorphite - referred to as plumbeine or Blaubleierz (in german) - are known for a long time. Only a few localities in the world are known to have yielded these specimens. This example exhibits pale brownish-yellowish hexagonal pyromorphite which was replaced by galena on the surface. Nice and rare one and interesting because the replacement can be seen textbook-like.
