Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
South Wheal Frances, Cornwall, United Kingdom
Size Range:
Small cabinet (7-10 cm)
Size:
4.5 × 8.5 × 4 cm
Description

An old time specimen displaying many barrel shaped chalcocite crystals "some altered to bornite" to 3 mm scattered over bornite, chlorite matrix.

A very rare location specimen, the first crystalline chalcocite specimen I've seen from this mine.

Comes with a rare W. Peters dealer label who as well as being a barber also sold minerals from his shop in Redruth High Street. The label names the specimen as erubescite, an old French term for bornite.

More on William Peters can be found Here.
