Description

A cleave of color zoned fluorite.

The specimen is built up in layers varying in color from sea green to clear.

Near the top there are inclusions of bismuthinite needles, longest 11 mm underneath these crystals are specks of native bismuth, some which protruding through the side of the specimen

The last photo displays an end of a bismuthinite needle with native bismuth underneath which looks like molten metal frozen in time by the crystallization of the fluorite, above the needle is a small droplet of bismuth surrounded by a halo of tiny needles of bismuthinite, to give a scale guide the droplet is approximately .5 mm
