Fluorite & Muscovite

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Nagar, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan
Class:
Crystals on Matrix
Size Range:
Small cabinet (7-10 cm)
Size:
7.9 × 5.2 × 4.7 cm
Description

A fantastic specimen ! The Fluorite shows cubic habit with octahedral modifications - the faces show uncountable tiny stepped faces all with razor sharp termination. The crystal is 49mm across and complete all around - only the bottom of the crystal is on the muscovite matrix, the backside is free-standing and also wel shaped. It shows very fine translucency - it doesn´t need any backlight, also the photos were done only under daylight! Many crystals from the locality are usually only of pale color - this one shows an amazing good saturation for Nagar! It is absolutely undamaged and attractively set on well developed muscovite blades, also these are in fine codition. A wonderful arrangement, very tri-dimensional, well balanced and highly aesthetic.
