Single Crystal

Miniature (4.5-7 cm)
Size:
4.6 × 2.4 × 2.1 cm
Description

One of the great US classics - productive since 1903, the last relevant discovery of Rubellite was in 2001, nearly 120 years mining history! The particular crystal shows very good color, the intensity of the pink area is close to the best ones. And it shows an also intense green cap. The faces are lustrous all around and very good transparency - the photo was done without backlight! The end-point shows the typical habit - one glossy face which is framed with lot of tiny steps along the edges. The luster is fine, the color is much over average and it has almost 40 gramm, so it is really a fine sample from this famous locality.
