Tourmaline & Lepidolite

Classic Locality

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Pederneira Mine, São José da Safira, Minas Gerais, Brazil
Class:
Single Crystal
Size Range:
Cabinet (10-18 cm)
Size:
12.2 × 1.5 × 1 cm
Description

A wonderful and large crystal from this most famous locality! It is sharp terminated, all faces are highly lustrous and the end-point consists of tiny stepped faces. The crystal is attractively set on a small lepidolite group in light lavender color - this is really a nice contrast to the light blue to blue-green crystal. And this dimension is really impressive - even for Pederneira! The specimen shows baerly visible repairs (like nearly all Pederneiras), no sognificant damages to report.
