Description

From more recent discoveries in the Tamboras area, at 5500 m above the sea level. From "The Mineralogical Record", March-April 2011, vol. 42/2, page 141: "These specimens [augelite from Mundo Nuevo] are probably the world's finest for the species, with crystals as large as the largest known from Rapid Creek, Yukon, and from the Champion mine, California." - but in much better quality. This piece is very shpecial - you can show it 360°, one photo shows front-side, one back-side, third image shows the piece rotated to the side - on thin vein of quartz in the middle and augelite on both sides. No significant damages to report, all crystals sharp, gemmy, lustrous and in intense color.
