Stilbite & Adularia

Floater

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
St Gotthard Tunnel, NEAT Construction Site, Amsteg, Uri, Switzerland
Class:
Combination
Size Range:
Miniature (4.5-7 cm)
Size:
5 × 3.4 × 2.4 cm
Description

An out-standing rarity and a true alpine treasure. Stilbite from alpine clefts is exceptional - and this here is not just a sample; it is very aesthetic! The snowy white stilbite crystals are perched on a well formed cluster of sharp terminated adularia rystals. The larger adularia crystals are below the stilbite - the are highly lustrous, some other adularia crystals at the base are partly powdered with chlorite. The piece is developed as floater, no significant damages to report. The Gotthard tunnel as locality makes the piece even more special. An exceptional rarity, aesthetic and in fine quality!
