Floater

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Gjaidtroghöhe, Große Fleiß Valley, Spittal an der Drau District, Carinthia, Austria
Class:
Single Crystal
Size Range:
Small miniature (3-4.5 cm)
Size:
3.6 × 3 × 1.8 cm
Description

Deep orange color radiates from under the very well crystallized surface of this remarkable piece. This scheelite was in fact part of a much larger crystal (based o all fragments it must had a weight of 3,5kg)  but which was divided in many parts during growth. All of those parts re-crystallized at the broken faces and are now floaters. This one is free of any damage and shows a great termination. Alpine scheelite at its very best!
