Description

Not just amber - this locality is one of the most remarkable origins of amber. It is located in Alps - not a place where we would expect amber. And it is one of the oldest amber localities world-wide, amber from this locality is over 120 millions of years old! It was a very small discovery decades ago and really nothing is on the common market. The particular specimen is nearly opac (which is caused by coal-inclusions - this material is out of coal-veins) and the structure reminds more to a yowah-nut opal than to amber. Well cut and polished all around.
