Rosia Poieni Mine, Mușca, Lupșa, Alba County, Romania
Class:
Crystals on Matrix
Size Range:
Small cabinet (7-10 cm)
Size:
8 × 7.4 × 6.2 cm
Description

One of the most relevant discoveries during decades in Europe. These vivianite are probably the best world-wide, their color is even better than from compare-bale material from Bolivia. The particular specimen shows a huge main crystal - this crystal shows excellent translucency, sharp termination and superb luster! The second larger crystal is more inter-grown to matrix so you cannot see this fabulous internal color. Clarity and transparency of the exposed main crystal is much better in person. More about the history of this discovery you can read in the current Lapis-issue. No significant damages to report.
