Classic Locality

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Wiesbachrinne, Hohe Tauern, Salzburg, Austria
Class:
Single Crystal
Size Range:
Miniature (4.5-7 cm)
Size:
6.2 × 2.5 × 1.4 cm
Description

This is famous Austrian classic! Austria never produced many good smokies - they usually came from Switzerland or France. One of these rare, but most famous discoveries of smoky quartz in really excellent quality was the cleft in the "Wiesbachrinne" in Habach Valley. The crystal is razor-sharp terminated, all faces show best luster, there are no cracks or inclusions and the color is compare-able with best color from Switzerland - absolutely out-standing for Austrian Alps. Should be high valued for the locality!
