Description

What a spectacular specimen! The main crystal to the left hand side is up to 143mm on edges, the second one up to 112mm on edges. The faces are NOT dull, they are glossy! And it is not one of these pieces which need strong backlight - the translucency is very good. Although it is over 13cm from front to back you can see the colors under daylight. The photos were done with minor backlight to show the intensity of the yellow center. Along the edges the specimen shows more violet zonings and a thin sharp blue zoning. Tiny, glossy calcite scalenohedrons are scattered all over and further you can see lot of tiny chalkopyrite crystals inter-grown to the faces. Most of the bottom and backside is healed and partly covered with further calcite, only a few small areas on the bottom and backside are cleaved. The edges of the crystal to the right hand side is also natural, healed and not broken! A stunning center-piece for a fluorite collection in remarkable size and quality.
