Baryte

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Sherman Tunnel, Upper Iowa Gulch, Lake County, Colorado, United States of America
Class:
Crystals on Matrix
Size Range:
Small cabinet (7-10 cm)
Size:
8 × 5 × 5.2 cm
Description

The Sherman mine produced some of the most impressive golden Baryte specimens from Colorado. This mine is long closed and hasn't produced specimens for nearly 20 years, and these pieces are highly prized by Colorado collectors. They simply aren't seen on the market today, like most great U.S. classics. The crystals are highly lustrous and sharp terminated, they show a bright yellow color, good contrast to matrix and a really nice, aesthetic assemble. Should be high ranked for this very rare locality.
