Description

The typlocality is San Cristobal in Mexico, but this one is from the well known locality in Utah, mined in 1998 and represents a extreme rare variety of Quartz. It is a high-temperature modification and only come to exist over 1470°C. This is an out-standing rarity, found at only a fist full localities and only in low number. The specimen shows an exposed group of snowy white cristobalite on little darker matrix, also complete at the reverse. Bottom was on the rock.
