Class:
Crystals on Matrix
Size Range:
Small cabinet (7-10 cm)
Size:
8.1 × 4.4 × 3.1 cm
Description

Old stuff from the discovery of the century at Raidlgraben decades ago! Werfen is probably the most relevant locality in entire Europe for lazulite. Not compareable with specimen from Yukon territory or from Afghanistan - but for Europe the very best material. The crystals of this particular specimen are very good - most times they are smaller, less sharp and not lustrous - but these crystals unify all these indicators: they are exposed, consisting of tiny razor sharp faces, which are all very glossy. Further they show a very good contrast to the dark red-brown matrix. Should be high valued for quality and locality.
