Epidote

Classic Locality

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Söllnkar, Krimmler Ache Valley, Hohe Tauern, Salzburg, Austria
Class:
Single Crystal
Size Range:
Small miniature (3-4.5 cm)
Size:
3.7 × 2 × 0.5 cm
Description

A very uncommon piece - the crystals are very flat and tabular; strange habit for epidote and evenmore for this locality. The crystals are highly lustrous all around, sharp terminated and of excellent clarity. Only minor backlight is enough to expose this amazing color that reminds to emerald green. Should be high ranked for this rare alpine locality. No significant damages to report, only bottom was on the rock.
