The mining area in non-productive and it is prohibited to dig there. The locality produced the very best strontianite specimen in the world! While usually this mineral only forms dull white and most time micro-crystals, Oberdorf produced large crystals in fine orange to reddish color. The particular specimen is very uncommon, even for Oberdorf - two free-standing tabular crystals (a very rare habit) attractively set on light dolomite matrix. Contrast, assemble, crystal size and habit are remarkable. Very rare material in our days, and even when the area was productive - specimen in this quality came rare. No significant damages to report.
