Description

The only compare able quality of Vivianite in entire Europe came from Trepca - and crystal size was not larger than 2,5 to 3cm. From Romania I had seen some samples from Herja and Nistru Baita - tiny opac stuff. I drop over the floor when I saw this stuff; it is simply incredible. The dimension, the quality, the luster and this fantastic color! it only needs light background to see this amazing dark green (as good as best pieces from Bolivia). This stuff is from a recent discovery in Rosia Poieni Mine - this is an active copper mine near famous Rosia Montana (Verespatak). In my evaluation one of the most relevant, the most important discoveries in entire Europe since decades. This is like someone would discover 15cm tall Brookite in Binn Valley or 20cm tall Tourmalines on Elba Island. Th particular specimen shows flawless quality, the crystal is gemmy, sharp and end-pointed and the matrix gives a spectacular contrast to the piece. No significant damages to report - great visual impact in each angle.
