Description

The mining area in non-productive and it is prohibited to dig there. The locality produced the very best strontianite specimen in the world! While usually this mineral only forms dull white and most time micro-crystals, Oberdorf produced large crystals in fine orange to reddish color. This an uncommon, well shaped crystal with an intense orange zoning in the upper quarter - which makes it look like a torch. Complete all around, bottom was on the rock.
