Poggio Balate, Termini Imerese, Palermo Province, Sicily, Italy

Crystals on Matrix
Size Range:
Miniature (4.5-7 cm)
Size:
6.3 × 4.7 × 4.9 cm
Description

New material from a recent small discovery (2018) at Sicily. New discoveries from large mining areas in China, Africa or US are not really a surprise - but a these new fluorites from an small island, hand-extracted, not from an industrial mine is really an exceptional and relevant discovery! For Sicily a really important and spectacular novelty! The particular specimen is even more exceptional out of the reason that it is on matrix (most are just clusters). The exposed main-crystal (32mm) is sharp terminated and shows sharp internal zoning and a light blue color along all edges. Great contrast to matrix, no significant damages to report.
