Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Rogerley Mine, Frosterley, Weardale, County Durham, United Kingdom
Class:
Crystal Group/Cluster
Size Range:
Small cabinet (7-10 cm)
Size:
8.2 × 7.8 × 5.6 cm
Description

A spectacular and more uncommon specimen from the famous Rogerely Mine. Usually most crystals are small around 1 or 2 cm on edges. The specimen is from a discovery in August 2009, for this dimension the translucency of the crystals is really extra-ordinary. The photos were done under daylight - along edges and corner you can see dark blue zones caused by daylight-fluorescence. The crystals show an intense bottle-green color. All faces are highly lustrous and show a very attractive texture. No significant damages to report, backside was on the rock. Ex Konczer Coll.
